JSW Steel, Vedanta Among Bidders For Commercial Coal Mines Auctions


Vedanta, JSW Steel are amongst bidders for industrial coal mining auctions

New Delhi:

Government on Tuesday mentioned 31 corporations, together with JSW Steel, Vedanta Ltd, NLC India Ltd, Jindal Power and Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd, have submitted bids for twenty-four mines underneath industrial coal mines auctions.

As many as 38 on-line and offline bids have been submitted throughout the three rounds of auctions.

“A total of 31 companies have submitted their bids (both online and offline) in the auction process,” the coal ministry mentioned in an announcement.

JSW Steel, Vedanta Ltd, NLC India Ltd, Jindal Power and Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd have submitted the bids. Others corporations which have submitted the bids embrace Birla Corporation Ltd, Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd, Rungta Metals Private Ltd and Godavari Power & Ispat Ltd.

The public sale course of for 122 coal/lignite mines was launched in March. The final date of submission of technical bids was June 27, 2022, apart from 10 mines. Those 10 mines comprise Parbatpur Central coal mine and 9 lignite mines.

“As part of the auction process, technical bids comprising online and offline bid documents were opened today… in the presence of the interested bidders,” the assertion mentioned.

The bids will probably be evaluated by a multi-disciplinary technical analysis committee and the technically certified bidders could be shortlisted for participation within the digital public sale.

Post opening of the technical bids, the discussion board was opened for dialogue and options have been invited from the bidders to make the industrial coal mine auctions extra engaging for the business.

On Monday, the coal ministry mentioned it has obtained a complete of 38 bids within the three rounds of economic coal mines’ auctions.

A complete of 28 offline bids have been obtained in opposition to 15 coal mines on provide underneath the fifth spherical of the auctions.

As per the ministry, within the second try of the third spherical, a complete of 9 coal mines have been put up on the market and 6 bids have been obtained for them.

In the second try of the fourth spherical, a complete of 4 coal mines have been put up for auctions and 4 bids have been obtained for 3 coal mines.

The fifth spherical, the second try of the fourth and third rounds of the auctions have been launched by the coal ministry in March.

In 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the public sale of 41 coal mines for industrial mining.
