The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has sought an action taken report from the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for its failure to recognise the Karate National Federation of India.

The ministry has been requested to submit its report on allegations of inaction inside 4 weeks from April 9.

Acting on a grievance by Guwahati-based rights activist Monojit Singha, the apex human rights physique stated the non-recognition of the karate federation has affected the profession of the contact sport athletes, in addition to depriving them of varied authorities advantages.

This, it identified, is a violation of rights, particularly of the nation’s youth which apply karate.

Mr. Singha, in his April 4 grievance, stated the karate athletes have been dealing with big losses and harm for not with the ability to take part in worldwide occasions, together with the Olympics, because of the ministry’s inaction.
